People of Matthew

The People of Matthew are introduced through a detailed genealogy that establishes the legal and royal lineage of Jesus beginning with the patriarch Abraham (Matthew 1:1–2). This opening record links the central figure to the history of Israel by naming ancestors such as Isaac, the son of the promise (Matthew 1:2), and Judah through whom the scepter was prophesied to remain (Matthew 1:2–3).
