Background and Family

Tahan appears within the complex genealogical records of the tribe of Ephraim. According to 1 Chronicles 7:25, he was the son of Telah. The lineage provided in this passage follows a descending order: Rephah was the father of Resheph, who was the father of Telah, who was the father of Tahan.

The text further identifies Tahan as the father of Ladan. This lineage is particularly significant because it eventually culminates in the birth of Joshua, the son of Nun.
